Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt a lot over the period of time taken to produce the opening sequence.

I have learnt how to use a camera stand. I used this especially when we where filming our preliminary task. It was very useful, however during the filming of our opening sequence, I didn't use a stand very often due to the fact that we wanted a handheld camera effect with its unsteady nature.
How to accomplish certain shots was another thing I learned. I found how to tilt or where to hold the camera for certain shots. this was a learning process that meant that we had to film the same piece a few time from different places or angles to enable a wide variety to choose from when we where editing.

Editing together the piece was one of the harder things that I learnt. It took patience to select and cut down each individual take so that the sequence as a whole flowed well. I had to ask quite a few questions in order to accomplish certain things, such as the treatments to make takes seem older than they where. I also manipulated to lighting and contrast to create the effect wanted.

Learning how to do sound and how to build up a track was simple once we where told how. I enjoyed layering the sounds to sound realistic but also be able to put our own interpretations on the piece.

I enjoyed learning how to use the different pieces of technology and expand my knowledge of media processes.
